Discovery Bay

Witness the spectacular beauty of the deep in Discovery Bay: United Healthcare Marine Education Center. Over 1.1 million gallons of water provide a home for sharks, rays and other marine life. Guests can actually touch sharks, sea stars, and sea anemones in an interactive estuary and tide pool.

Why no dolphin shows?

  • In cooperation with other facilities with dolphins, we are growing our dolphin population.
  • April and Semo are healthy and active, but they are getting a little too old for many of the high-energy behaviors that have thrilled guests for years.
  • Spree is an adolescent, curious and easily distracted. We hope she will learn from Allie’s maternal skills to better prepare her to be a mom in the future.

Things always change with active social animals.Watch our dolphin pod grow!
