The numbers are fair for a Jambi-Kerinci mating. If two cubs were born, the net change in gene diversity for all of captive Sumatran tigers would increase by 0.01%, rising from 91.41 (that is, 91.41% of the original gene diversity still retained) to 91.42. That's not great, but it's a move in the right direction. Gene diversity is not the only consideration, of course. Kerinci is only one year old and at the very beginning of her fertile years. She may not produce a litter for several years. It may be best to wait before trying to breed her. We will inform you of our breeding recommendation soon.
