Zoology 101

Get a glimpse into the most popular major of study for zoo professionals. The animal kingdom is a big and fascinating world to discover and the Zoo is the perfect place to investigate it further. Dissections, keeper interactions and animal behavior studies will all be a part of this exciting camp.

NEW! Marine Biology 201: Dive Roatan!
July 20–27
Plunge into the Caribbean waters off the coast of Honduras. The island of Roatan is one of the top SCUBA diving areas in the world. While surrounded by reef sharks, eagle rays and sea turtles earn your Open Water SCUBA certification or receive your Advance Open Water certificate during our week together. Apply what you have learned during Marine Biology 101 as we help local conservationist collect data on fish and coral during our dives. We will be joining a local conservation group for beach clean-ups and cultural stories of marine conservation issues of this diverse island.

ALASKA! Ocean to Mountains
August 1–8
Imagine being surrounded by mountains and glaciers as the adventure begins with a boat cruise along the Kenai Peninsula, watching whales, seals, puffins and sea otters. Then it’s all aboard for an unforgettable train ride on the Alaskan Railroad as we head north to Denali National Park. Be prepared to work with wildlife biologists in the park as we assist in tracking animals such as bear, moose, elk and wolves while collecting data critical to conservation efforts in the park.
