Animals at Play
All a.m. sessions
Children and animals are naturally playful, but play is serious business! By the end of the week, we’ll understand why play and cooperation are not only important for kids, but also necessary for animal survival!

Long Necks & Sharp Teeth

Come take a chomp out of our new Dinosaurs! exhibit and get “hands-on” experience working at a special dig-site. We’ll learn
about long necks, sharp teeth, spike tails, swimmers, flyers, big mouths, three horns, and more!

Ocean Odyssey

Dive into an underwater world along with sea turtles, sharks and sea dragons. Each day we will explore a different ocean habitat including coral reefs, tide pools, and estuaries.

Down on the Farm

NEW! Box Turtles, Armadillos & Hedgehogs, Oh My!
(Meet "Mossy"!)
All p.m. sessions
Fans of “Hedgie”, from The Mitten & The Hat by Jan Brett, will delight in meeting “Mossy”, a garden-growing box turtle; as well as an adventure-seeking armadillo, named “Bo”; a greedy badger from Botswana; 3 little dassies from West Africa; and Froggy, a tiny tree frog from Costa Rica!
The weeks of June 10-14, June 24-28 and July 8-12 are no longer available.

Music is everywhere—join us for a musical journey around the world! Play a didgeridoo, hop like a kangaroo, imitate an African Talking Drum, and tap an Indian Tabla without ever leaving the Zoo.

Wolves & Dogs, Tigers & Cats

Spend a fun-filled week investigating canidae and felidae (dogs and cats). Visit our wolves & tigers to learn how these wild predators compare to each other, and how they differ from their domestic cousins.

Zoo Explorers

Do you know the difference between an antler and a horn? Can you figure out what an animal eats by looking at its teeth? Is a starfish really a fish? Learn these and other amazing animal facts while exploring the Minnesota Zoo.

Our “flash mob” was such a hit last summer that Steppingstone Theatre is back by popular demand! Join us as we celebrate the return engagement of the Africa! exhibit and also explore the natural talents of animals and ourselves! Each
week is dedicated to learning about animal instincts while traveling throughout the Zoo, as well as exploring different
ways to sing, dance, and create stories through African
Folktales, music, and mask creation!
**Note: There are two groups (Group A & B) of 1–2 graders the week of August 19-23. Please make sure that you register your child and any sibling/friend you wish to attend with them into the same group.
