Tax benefits of attending Zoo Education programs

These classes are especially designed for young people
(ages 4–8) and their favorite adults. Our activities, excursions, crafts and games will make learning fun for young and old alike. The whole Zoo is our classroom and visits to "behind-the-scenes" areas with zookeepers and trainers will make each class special.

Ages: 4-8 and their favorite adult(s)

Time: 1:00-3:00 p.m. (unless noted differently below)

Fees:
Zoo Members: $18.50 per participant
(minimum of 1 adult, 1 child = $37)
Non-Members: $25 per participant
(minimum of 1 adult, 1 child = $50)

Jammin' with Giraffes Jammin' with Giraffes June 23 What is the tallest animal on earth, has a heart two feet long and a tongue eighteen inches long? If you guessed a giraffe - you are right! Step into Africa right here in Minnesota and learn some fun and fascinating facts about these sentinels of the savannas. You'll also have an opportunity to feed a giraffe a special treat.	June 23
Dynomite for Dinos (8:30-10:30 a.m.) Dynomite for Dinos July 13 Come visit us for some BIG fun! We’ll explore the world of dinosaurs by comparing them to each other and our modern day reptiles. We’ll walk out to visit the behind-the-scenes area of our Dinosaur! exhibit and have some swamp juice, too!	July 13
Breakfast with Bessie at the Farm (8-10 a.m.) Breakfast with Bessie at the Farm July 27 Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a farm keeper? Here is your chance! Get first-hand experience by helping with morning chores. A continental breakfast and classroom activities are included.	July 27
Silly for Sloths Silly for Sloths August 4 Imagine living upside down, having algae grow on you and sleeping 20 hours a day! Be a sloth sleuth and discover what other things make the sloth so interesting. Help make a diet with our tropics keeper and meet our sloth firsthand.	August 4

Penguin Party! Penguin Party! September 14 Penguins don’t fly but their popularity is soaring. Find out all about these black and white birds by diving into some fun activities and exploration. You’ll learn all about the unique Penguins of the African Coast and how they differ from Antarctic penguins. We promise you’ll have a swimmingly good time!	September 14
Hooray for Horses Hooray for Horses September 21 Gallop on in to learn some fun facts about horses. We will learn about different breeds of horses, meet our horses, Prince and Duke and watch keepers harness the team. We will end our adventure by brushing the horses.	September 21
