Kids dressed as frogs will receive ½ price admission,
February 29–March 2, 2008
Apple Valley, MINN – Hey Kids–what are you doing for “Year of the Frog?” Come to the Minnesota Zoo from February 29 (that’s Leap Day!) through March 2 dressed as a frog and receive half-price admission (discount valid for ages 3-12 only). Why has 2008 been named Year of the Frog? One-third of all amphibians on the planet are threatened with extinction. Amphibian declines are now attributed to a new cause-chytridiomycosis-a disease that wipes out frogs, toads, and salamanders. Zoos and aquariums, with strong public support, will play a major role in addressing the amphibian extinction crisis - one of the most sweeping wildlife conservation challenges of our time.
