Victoria Crowned Pigeon

Minnesota Zoo Welcomes Rare Chick

There's a colorful new addition to the Tropics Trail at the Minnesota Zoo. A Victoria crowned pigeon chick, which hatched at the beginning of September, has left its nest and is staying close to mom and dad while exploring the Aviary. It’s the Zoo’s first Victoria crowned pigeon chick to hatch in over five years.

Two New Sea Otter Pups Now at the Minnesota Zoo

The Minnesota Zoo has released footage and photographs of two new sea otter pups from Alaska now under its care. The otters will make their public debut in June, 2008 when the Zoo opens its new exhibit, Russia’s Grizzly Coast.

Lynx

Lynx kittens now on exhibit

Two adorable lynx kittens are now on exhibit in the Medtronic Minnesota Trail from 9 a.m. until noon every day. Born May 5 & May 10, this boy and girl duo (unrelated) came to the Zoo in June from a private party and were cared for by the Zoo's animal health staff over the past few months. These energetic and inquisitive kittens, now between 9-10 pounds each, have been busy exploring their new home. Watch a short video of our new kittens. Get more information on lynx.

Minnesota Zoo Welcomes 30 millionth Guest!

A Great Year—Zoo Exceeds Attendance Goals!

The Minnesota Zoo reports an attendance increase for its just completed 2007 fiscal year (July 1, 2006–June 30, 2007). The attendance figure of 1,030,414 guests exceeds the 1 million goal for 2007 and is an increase over the preceding year of more than 38,000 guests. Learn more.
