AZUL, A New Young Professional Organization, To Host Launch Party at the Minnesota Zoo
A new young professional organization is hitting the Twin Cities in support of the Minnesota Zoo. AZUL, a community of like-minded twenty and thirty somethings eager to actively connect through conservation, education and social events to support the Zoo, will be hosting their launch party on February 19, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The event, Warm Up in the Wild, will be a tropically-themed cocktail party held in the Minnesota Zoo’s Tropics Trail where guests will meet and mingle with Zoo conservation experts, learn about AZUL and find out about upcoming events available to AZUL members.
“We are thrilled about the launch of AZUL,” stated Minnesota Zoo Director/CEO Lee Ehmke. “The AZUL Council has been hard at work putting together some truly dynamic networking events to help connect and educate young professionals about the conservation activities the Zoo manages locally and around the world. We are confident that AZUL’s activities will help keep the Minnesota Zoo top-of-mind for young professionals in the area.”
Warm Up in the Wild will feature a huge beach for guests to get sand between their toes! There will be several exciting giveaways at the event. One lucky attendee will even win a trip for two to one of Mexico’s most renowned luxury eco-resorts, Playa Viva (playaviva.com), where guests will have the opportunity to learn about their sea turtle release program. Delta Air Lines (delta.com) will be providing air from Minneapolis to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo for the trip.
Drinks, music, and plenty of socializing will be on hand at Warm Up in the Wild. The cost to attend the event is free for anyone who becomes a member of AZUL. Annual membership starts at $85 and directly supports the Zoo’s conservation and education initiatives through the Minnesota Zoo Foundation. The cost to attend for non-members is $25.
