Minnesota Zoo Continues Year of the Farm Celebration
Apple Valley, MINN – July 14, 2010 – Continuing with its Year of the Farm celebration, the Minnesota Zoo hosts Family Farm Festival on July 24 and July 25, 2010. Activities include a tractor display, blacksmith demonstrations, kids’ crafts, and live music. On Saturday, July 24 the Sawtooth Bluegrass Band will perform and on Sunday, July 25 it’s a country theme with the Tim Sigler Band. Stop by the Dairy Barn and watch a cow milking demonstration, or take a ride on the wagon tram. Say hello to our newest horse additions, “Bo” and “Luke,” and 15 new piglets, born just a few weeks ago. You can also participate in “Cluckeoke,” a new twist on Karaoke and cluck to your favorite songs. The Wells Fargo Family Farm is a traditional 1950s-style diversified farm with farm animals of every kind. Zoo guests can get up-close and personal with many of them, including the opportunity to feed a goat.
