Get Up Close and Personal With Sea Otters at the Minnesota Zoo
Zoo offers its first “Sea Otter Encounter Program”
Apple Valley, MN – December 3, 2012 –The Minnesota Zoo is now offering guests the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes with one of its three sea otters.
During this interactive, educational program, guests will learn about each of the otter’s unique qualities and have an opportunity to feed an otter a special treat (based on animal's choice to participate). Guests will enjoy watching a training session during a behind-the-scenes tour of the sea otter area in the Zoo’s award-winning Russia’s Grizzly Coast exhibit, and get the chance to be creative while helping the sea otter trainers set up a play session, watching as the otters explore the creations!
Sea otter encounters are offered select Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 1 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. Participants must be at least eight years of age; guests younger than 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Each encounter is limited to five participants and is $150 per person. To register or learn more, visit mnzoo.org.
