Sue McLean’s Legacy Memorialized at the Minnesota Zoo
Apple Valley, MINN – August 16, 2013 – For nearly two decades, Sue McLean was the force behind great music at the Minnesota Zoo. There was rarely a show where you couldn’t find Sue hanging out, talking to guests, and enjoying the music. Sue died in May of cancer at the age of 62. In her honor, the Zoo has created a memorial for the Sue McLean family and is naming the stage at the Weesner Family Amphitheater the “Sue McLean Stage.”
A special ceremony will take place with Zoo officials and the McLean family on Wednesday, August 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Zoo’s Weesner Family Amphitheater prior to the Lyle Lovett concert. A brief public dedication of the stage immediately prior to the start of the concert will also take place.
