Minnesota Zoo Announces Plans for Conservation Carousel
Apple Valley, MINN – April 3, 2013 – As part of its newly-released master plan, the Minnesota Zoo is announcing plans for a new “Conservation Carousel,” scheduled to open in June 2014. Featuring 56 animals, each hand-carved by skilled artisans, the Conservation Carousel offers unique sponsorship opportunities and the community is invited to participate by sponsoring an animal or chariot.
A gift in support of the Conservation Carousel gives donors the chance to celebrate and honor a family member, friend or loved one. Special plaques and a donor wall will recognize donors and the honorees while creating an enduring commitment to wildlife conservation. Proceeds from the Conservation Carousel will support local, national, and international Minnesota Zoo conservation programs.
Sponsorships endure for the life of the carousel animal or chariot, and benches and exterior panels located around the carousel also are available for sponsorship. Carousel donors of $250 or more will be recognized on the Conservation Carousel donor wall and be enrolled in the Friends of the Minnesota Zoo giving society. Questions about sponsorship opportunities on the Conservation Carousel should be directed to the Minnesota Zoo Foundation at 952.431.9237.
The Minnesota Zoo is located in Apple Valley, just minutes south of Mall of America. For more information, call 952.431.9500 or visit mnzoo.org.
