Last Weekend to See Odessa’s Magical Menagerie at the Minnesota Zoo
Apple Valley, MINN – September 2, 2011 – Come join the Minnesota Zoo for the last weekend of Odessa’s Magical Menagerie, a 25-minute educational and inspirational puppet show in the Zoo’s recently completed Target® Learning Center. This performance runs through September 5, 2011. This performance features eight-year-old Odessa, a curious little girl who – with the help of her many animal friends – explores the tropical rainforest, a coral reef, the Northern woods and her own backyard as she learns all about biodiversity and the importance of all living things (even bugs!). Odessa’s Magical Menagerie was made possible by a generous grant from the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment and was created by Soozin Hirschmugl and Mary Jo Nikolai of Public Domain Productions. The final performances will be on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. in the Target® Learning Center. The NEW Target® Learning Center is home to the indoor KAYTEE World of Birds free-flight show along with many other educational programs. The Center is a key part of the Minnesota Zoo’s Heart of the Zoo – Phase One Project, which also includes a newly updated and spacious South Entrance, the NEW Cargill Environmental Education Center and the NEW 3M Penguins of the African Coast exhibit. The Minnesota Zoo is located in Apple Valley, just minutes south of Mall of America. For more information, call 952.431.9500 or visit mnzoo.org. The Minnesota Zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and an institutional member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).
