Take a Break from the Bitter Cold...Head to a Tropical Beach Party at the Zoo
Apple Valley, MINN – February 9, 2010 – Sand. Calypso music. A lush, warm rainforest setting. The Minnesota Zoo is bringing the tropics to you during its "Tropical Beach Party" over the long President's Day weekend, February 13–15, 2010. Sponsored by M&I Bank, the Zoo's Tropical Beach Party invites people of all ages to wander throughout its lush tropical rainforest, wiggle their toes in the warm sand of the largest indoor sandbox in Minnesota, and enjoy some fun crafts. The music of steel drum duo 33 Degrees North will be playing, and Zoo staff and volunteers will be available to share fun facts about our most popular tropical animals. Party guests can also learn what they can do to preserve these, and other, endangered and threatened species!
